1️⃣Welcome to Month 3! 🎉

You’re wrapping up the first trimester (yes, already!) and getting closer to the pregnancy sweet spot—the second trimester! For many moms, nausea starts to ease, energy levels go up, and your baby bump might finally start making an appearance.

What’s exciting about Month 3?

  • Gender testing is now an option! (Hello, NIPT results!)
  • Baby’s tiny movements have started—though you won’t feel them yet.
  • Your registry and baby planning officially begin!
  • It’s time to build your support system—pregnancy isn’t a solo journey.

💡 Still feeling exhausted or queasy? Totally normal! Every pregnancy is different, and relief often comes in the next few weeks. Hang in there!

2️⃣ What’s Happening at 3 Months Pregnant?

You’ve made it to Month 3—which means you’re almost out of the first trimester! 🎉 Your baby is growing fast, your body is adjusting, and you might finally start feeling a little more like yourself again (goodbye, morning sickness… maybe?).

This month is all about big changes:

👶 Baby’s Growth

Your baby is now the size of a plum! Inside, huge developmental changes are happening:
Facial features are more defined—tiny lips, eyelids, and ears are forming! 👶
The skeleton is beginning to harden—bones are replacing cartilage. 🦴
Baby’s tiny fingers & toes are fully formed. ✋👣
Your little one is starting to practice swallowing & kicking! (You won’t feel it just yet, but it’s happening!).

🤰 Your Body at 3 Months Pregnant

Here’s what you might be experiencing this month:

  • Morning sickness might start easing up (fingers crossed!).
  • Your baby bump may start to show (but if not, totally normal!).
  • Hormonal shifts = acne, headaches, or extra oil production.
  • Increased appetite—your body is working hard, so fuel up with nourishing foods!

💡 Doctor’s Tip: Your NT scan (nuchal translucency scan) happens around 12-14 weeks—this ultrasound checks for early signs of genetic conditions. If you opted for NIPT blood work, you might also learn baby’s gender this month! Read our full guide to newborn testing.

3️⃣ Key To-Dos for Month 3: First Trimester Wrap-Up ✅

You’re wrapping up the first trimester, and big milestones are ahead! This month is about making decisions, getting organized, and setting yourself up for success in the next phase of pregnancy.

Not sure where to start? We’ve got you! Here’s your Month 3 checklist—from gender testing options to starting your baby registry and strengthening your support system.

🎉 Decide If You Want to Find Out Baby’s Gender

Are you Team “Let’s Find Out ASAP” or Team “Surprise Me!”? Either way, now’s the time to decide!

If you’re curious, the NIPT blood test (available around week 10) can reveal baby’s gender early. If you’d rather wait, the 20-week ultrasound will give you the answer later. No rush—you get to choose when (or if!) you find out.

📝 Start Your Baby Registry (Even If You’re Not Ready to Share Yet!)

It might feel early, but starting your baby registry now = less stress later! Even if you’re not ready to share it yet, getting a head start helps you research products, compare options, and take advantage of registry perks.

👶 Plan Your Gender Reveal (If You’re Finding Out!)

If you’re finding out baby’s gender, why not make it fun? Whether you’re planning a big reveal party or just want a special way to share the news, we’ve got tons of ideas!

4️⃣ Taking Care of YOU: Self-Care & Wellness in Month 3 💆‍♀️

The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster—but as you wrap up the first trimester, now’s the time to refocus on feeling good. Here are five simple ways to take care of yourself this month:

Prioritize Rest & Sleep 😴

  • Fatigue might improve soon—but listen to your body!
  • Try a pregnancy pillow early to support better sleep.

Keep Eating for Energy 🍽

Hydrate Like It’s Your Job 💦

  • Dehydration can increase headaches & nausea.
  • If plain water is blah, add fruit or try pregnancy-safe electrolyte drinks.

Take Care of Your Skin & Changing Body

Start Thinking About Movement 🚶‍♀️

  • Feeling better? Consider prenatal yoga, stretching, or walking.
  • Listen to your body—no pressure to “work out” if you’re exhausted!

💡 Self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity! The better you feel, the better you can enjoy the next phase of pregnancy.

5️⃣ Build Your Village & Strengthen Your Support System 🏡

💡 Pregnancy isn’t a solo journey—you need a strong support system! Here’s how to build your village and start asking for help.

📣 Ask for Help: Be Clear & Specific!

  • Instead of “Let me know if you need anything,” try:
    • “Could you bring over a meal this week?” 🍲
    • “Would you want to join me for a registry shopping trip?” 🛍
    • “I’d love help researching strollers—any recs?” 🚼

🤝 Keep Strengthening Relationships

  • If you’re finding out baby’s gender, this is a fun time to engage family & friends!
  • Set up a group chat or private Villie Baby Page to keep updates easy.
  • Check in on other moms-to-be—community is a two-way street!

🙌 Partners, This Is Your Time to Step Up!

  • Attend doctor’s appointments & ask questions.
  • Handle some of the research (strollers, car seats, hospital tours).
  • Help manage the pregnancy registry & budget planning.

6️⃣ Stay Connected with Your Village ❤️

Your village—family, friends, and support system—wants to celebrate with you and help along the way. Whether it’s sharing updates, getting advice, or letting loved ones be part of special moments, staying connected makes pregnancy even more meaningful.

Here’s how to keep your village involved and actively supporting you this month!

👶 Share Updates on Your Villie Baby Page

  • Let your village guess baby’s gender (or name ideas!)
  • Start sharing registry links (even just for recommendations).
  • Share your ultrasound picture!
